Ohio’s Service Delivery Improves

In 2013, Ohio was recognized in United Cerebral Palsy’s annual report, “The Case for Inclusion,” ranking 10th in the country for the “use of state Medicaid programs to serve Americans with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.”

Each year United Cerebral Palsy ranks states based not on their spending, but on outcomes for Americans with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The standards place emphasis on promoting independence and productivity, and reaching individuals in need and their families, while also monitoring health, safety, and quality of life. Improvements in service delivery to people with developmental disabilities over an eight-year span improved Ohio’s standing from 48th in the 2007 report.
